child protection gates are great. You can use them in front of a door or the stairs. We use one when we want to open our door and to keep my wonderful Westie inside. She tends to want to be outside and I want to keep her inside if I am doing something in another room. She does not seem to mind this barrier. They are really great for people who have human sons and daughters. I like this gate. It has really served its purpose.
